The capital and largest city of the Czech Republic, Prague has had a colourful past in politics and history, with the fall of communism and the Velvet Revolution. Prague Castle
For a historical and architectural view of the city whilst on a more cultural stag do, you can’t visit Prague without catching a glimpse of the beautiful castle on the hilltop proudly overlooking the city. One of the world’s biggest castles it now serves as the political centre for the city and is where the President of the Czech Republic has their office.
St Nicholas Cathedral
This is one of the most notable works of Bohemia Baroque architecture in Europe. As well as its outside beauty, the inside displays a selection of fantastic gold painted statues which draws crowds from around Europe.
Charles Bridge
Another one of Prague’s famous landmarks. Crossing over the Vltava river it is lined with 30 statues and statuaries, mostly of a baroque-style. Connecting Prague Castle and the Old Town, it is a landmark busy by day and quiet by night, but at all times offering unique views over the river and city.
National Gallery in Prague
If you’re an art buff then this is a must see. It houses two of Picasso’s famous self portraits amongst some of his more abstract works. As well as these it also has an extensive collection of Czech and Slovak paintings and sculptures.
Experiencing the Nightlife
The nightlife in Prague is some of the best in Eastern Europe boasting hundreds of bars and clubs. The medieval lanes of the Old Town are where you’ll find cheap beer and great restaurants, and for stag weekends Prague is perfect for beer lovers as Czech beer is often classed as one of the best beers in the world.
Karlovy Lazne Club
The largest club in Central Europe and definitely the venue for those looking for diversity, with each of its five floors offering a different type of music and style – Music Cafe, Discotheque, Kaleidoscope, Paradogs Club and Chill Out Club. The design of the club dates back to the 15th century with original mosaic tiles on the walls and the Roman health spa pools now being the space for one of the dance floors!
Nebe Kremencova Cocktail and Music Bar
This is a popular one with local Czechs as well as an International crowd, so perfect for a Prague stag do. A restored medieval cellar, this venue is great for somewhere with a different feel to it and you’ll get great deals on cocktails and plenty to choose from with a list of over 100. If there’s a group of you then you can also enjoy the special “bucket cocktails” for up to eight people to share! The music varies from RnB to house and pop depending on what night you go on.
La Fabrique
One of Prague’s oldest and best loved clubs and bars, you’ll find this venue just 5 minutes from the Old Town Square. La Fabrique combines both traditional exposed brick walls with a great atmosphere and contemporary DJs.
