Visitors can venture into the notorious Poison Garden, the Grand Cascade or the Ornamental Garden and get a taste of the real Northumberland culture of northern England.

Northumberland also has a number of historic sites and museums. Visitors can watch history come to life at Hadrian’s wall, a Roman fortification started in AD 122 by order of the Emperor Hadrian, the wall was, at the time, the most heavily fortified border in the Empire and is often described as being ”the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain”.

Northumberland is equipped with miles and miles of country paths and walkways. Visitors can find peace and solitude with long walks in Northumberland National Park. A place away from all the crowds, this park boasts mountain bike trails, scenic views and picnic areas.

The coast is a sandy stretch of beautiful beaches, dotted with ancient castles. Visitors can take a 64 mile walk on the Northumberland Coast Path and watch the sunset with the great Bamburgh Castle in the distance.
